I personally like the larger back button, but I do agree that a more logical place the for arrow would be between them – still, doesn’t bother me. I couldn’t care less with the download manager as I use the DownThemAll extension instead, which is far more capable, but I agree with you saying that’s confusing. I love the new address bar, even if the name is sucky. I can understand it not being liked by someone on a low screen resolution, but you don’t run at low res surely? I honestly think this is a personal preference thing.

And I second what skube said – your fonts really are teh suck. Get ClearType enabled!

I’ve used the nightlies for months, and they tried to fine-tune the presentation of the rich auto-complete results a lot and I’m unsure if this is actually the best but I still prefer it very much to the old bar. It took some time getting used to however but I think you’re wrong.

The back-forward dropdown button can use a better design, but I do like the concept of single “recent pages history”.

The download manager has good functionality but I feel the same way about the font mix. A little more native look&feel would be in place.

Oh my god, thank Christ for Oldbar! Was wrecking my head. And yes, the download manager and the back/forward buttons are L-A-M-E. I sure hope they do something, anything to them in the near future.

That’s the beauty of open-source, really- if you have a complaint, someone else has too and they’ve gone ahead and fixed it for you using the project’s extensibile nature, and they’ve published their work too!

I’d say give it time, I’ve been using the beta releases for quite a few months now and you get used to it all. At least the download manager has a clear list button now, previous releases of the beta was missing that.

There’s an extension called Oldbar (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6227) that allows you to use the old interface with the new algorithms. The algorithms are *really* cool: I feel like I’ve got quicksilver in my firefox now. It’s really a pleasure to use them.
